About this position: 

Our client is a successful, growing, innovative design led consumer goods, home interiors and lifestyle products company, who supply both the Multiple and Independent retail sector throughout the UK and Internationally. Due to an ambitious programme of planned business growth, they wish to appoint a Managing Director with a strong operational background, to lead an experienced senior leadership team.

The Role: 

• You will have full P&L responsibility for the business. To lead the management and development of business growth, whilst contributing effectively to the day-to-day operational running of the company.
• To deliver on the short- and long-term strategic vision of the company, implement ongoing change, both systems and operational procedures, ensuring the supply chain is capable of keeping pace with product and consumer demand, including dual sourcing of products.
• To expand the product ranges at speed, launching into new fringe product categories and international territories. To drive organisational growth, operational evolution and further develop innovation.
• To manage key client relationships within the retail sector, whilst building the brand and the profitability of the business. Attend international trade shows, so a degree of international travel will be required.

The Person: 

• Ideally degree educated any additional qualifications such as an MBA, would be an advantage. You will have a proven track record of success in a senior leadership role in a design led consumer products business. You will be a charismatic leader, a well-rounded individual with a strong operational background.
• You will be capable of delivering and driving business growth, a really strong leader with vision and innovation, capable of providing strategic advice coupled to good problem-solving skills.
• To further develop and build an effective management team in a fast-growing company with a fast-changing structure. An understanding of developing and implementing a ERP system would be beneficial.
• You will be a ‘hands-on’ dynamic individual with a good understanding of working within a creative design led company. A strong communicator, both with internal and external key stakeholders.
